There’s a trend afoot with electric motorcycles, where we’ve seen hybrid motorcycle concepts by Machineart, and vehicles such as the NmG that are actually three-wheeled electric motorcycles masquerading as cars. Now this Genesis EV-X7 is a little commuter scooter that claims higher efficiency for a comparatively little amount of money.

While some reports are claiming this bike can go 90 mph, that might be an exaggeration. Others say the bike can go 15 mph up a 6-degree grade, showing that its designers are making progress against the main drawback of most electric motorcycles: Not enough torque. At whatever speed, the concept is truly efficient, able to travel 112 miles on a six-hour battery charge. http://libidoe.blogspot.com

It achieves that efficiency with a new kind of electric motor dubbed “Sumo.” It’s electric all the way, using a hybrid approach combining a permanent magnet with electromagnetic technology. The price for all this high tech if it’s ever released? It’ll be around $2,000, a bit steep for a scooter, but you’ll save lots on gas. No one’s saying when we can expect this future techno-cycle to hit the road, but it won’t be a moment too soon. — Charlie White

I have put tell the Suzuki Smash Revo model history on this page as I know it. I would be grateful of any contributions — sales brochures, magazine ads, magazine articles, pictures, specs, facts, corrections etc. Please scan the material in JPEG format (large enough that all the details are visible) and send them to me. Please tell me the source and the publication date if possible. If you send me pictures of your own bike, please follow these instructions.
Suzuki Smash Revo 2008 - Thailand
Revo is a cub model motorcycle brand of Honda in Indonesia. But, in Thailand the name Revo will be owned by Suzuki. Suzuki Smash Revo, officialy called FK110SD-E model in Suzuki. Smash Revo sounds commercially much better then Smash. Besides in Thailand, Smash Revo also sold in Vietnam. In Indonesia, it’s sold in the name of Suzuki New Smash.

The weight and handling of the Suzuki Smash Revo is what you can expect from a 95 kilo, and a wheelbase of 1.23 meter. Nothing special about the handling of the bike, all we had the feeling that the 110 cc engine was a bit more powerful then the average 110 cc. Maybe the source for this extra power is the Mikuni VM-18 carburetor, the Mikuni VM-18 carburetor is often used in racing motorcycles. There are also special racing kits available for this Mikuni carburetor.

As all motorcycles in this price class, the Suzuki Smash Revo comes with electric starter and rear swing-arm with 2 coil spring the front suspension is a regular telescopic, coil Spring with oil damper. For brakes the Smash Revo has a single front Disc Brake and a rear drum brake. From the showroom the Smash Revo has spoked wheels, some dealers are maybe willing to exchange this for light metal wheels. Suzuki is using a 70/90-17 33P tire on the front wheel and a 80/90-17 43P tire on the rear wheel.

For fuel this Suzuki bike has a 4.5 liter Fuel Tank Capacity, and for fuel type it is standard Unleaded Petrol (91 Octance).

For performance Maximum power the Smash Revo can deliver 9.8 PS, at 9,000 rpm. With a Maximum Torque 1.0 kg/m at 7,000 rpm. The engine is a 110 cc 4-stroke, Single Overhead Camshaft model. Air Cooled with a bore x stroke of 53.5 x 48.8 mm with DC-CDI ignition. For lubrication we see the proved technology of SALCS (Suzuki Advanced Lubrication Cooling System) again.

BMW Rider Equipment is renowned for its innovative design, technical capabilities and outstanding durability and safety. It was therefore no surprise that a number of items for the brand new 2009 Rider Equipment range attracted considerable attention when they were recently unveiled at the international Motorcycle and Scooter Show.

The highly anticipated 2009 BMW Rider Equipment range looks set to be as popular as ever. New products include even more technical features and upgrades to popular classics such as the best selling System 5 helmet, as well as a new product to replace the current Santiago suit and an all new commuter one-piece. A number of new items in the range were displayed on the BMW Motorrad stand, including the latest suit in the iconic Streetguard series and the lightest enduro helmet ever- the Carbon Enduro helmet.

New BMW Rider Equipment to look out for in 2009 include:

System 6 helmet

Following on from BMW’s best-selling System 5 helmet, the System 6 improves on the helmet’s already impressive aeroacoustic and aerodynamic credentials. The System 6 provides a highly attractive, modern design with a number of advancements including superior size and weight.
The helmet will be available in two shell sizes weighing 1570g (small shell) and 1670g (large shell) - a significant drop in weight from the System 5 helmet.
The helmet is constructed from an outer glass-fibre reinforced plastic (GRP) with an impact absorbing inner shell EPS (expanded polystyrene). The interior is made of Alcantara® and DuPont Coolmax® and is all removable and washable.
The chinstrap contains an integrated neckband which prevents the helmet from twisting. This ensures that in the event of an accident the helmet remains in the best possible position to provide maximum protection. Very few helmets on the market incorporate this feature.
An anti-fog double glazed visor comes as standard with the System 6. An in-helmet drop-down sun visor is also included, easily operated by means of a slide control on the side of the helmet.
The aerodynamics of the System 6 are extremely efficient, making it one of the quietest flip-front helmets on the market.
The System 6 helmet is also compatible with the BMW Bluetooth Communications System.

Trailguard suit

The new Trailguard suit is a complete re-design of the multifunctional Santiago suit. With a dynamic sporty look it is designed for all-terrain riding and features new material for greater rider comfort. The suit can be effortlessly adapted to match the weather.
Constructed from Dynatec™, the suit is highly wear-resistant. It is made with a breathable coating, making it air-permeable, softer and more comfortable without compromising on safety.
Additional protection is built into the suit with NP protectors in the back, shoulder, elbow, hip and knee areas. The height of the knee protectors is adjustable to ensure maximum comfort and safety. The suit also features 3M reflective material to improve visibility as an additional safety feature.
With a variety of weather-reactive features, the suit adapts to suit the climate. A retrofit GORE-TEX® insert is also available making the suit both waterproof and windproof. In addition, coated zips provide further protection and a waterproof outside pocket keeps valuables protected. A highly-breathable mesh lining also provides a body-climate balance with additional ventilation zips.

CoverAll suit

An innovative new suit for BMW Motorrad, the CoverAll combines simplicity of use and safety in a light, one-piece suit. The suit is tailored for a wide fit, enabling the motorcyclist to wear the suit over existing clothing, for example, a business suit. Easily adjustable, the suit has full length zips on the front and on both legs making it quick and easy to get into and out of.
The suit is made from a 3-layer laminate consisting of Condura® 500, climate membrane and liner with taped seams and waterproofed zips, all of which ensure that the suit remains waterproof, windproof, UV resistant and breathable. In addition, there is a waterproof inside pocket to keep valuables protected.
The suit contains built-in light SC protectors, while a retrofittable back protector is also available. The suit features 3M reflective prints to ensure high visibility.

Protector jacket 2

Developed from the original Protector jacket this product provides the highest degree of protection for the upper body without restricting freedom of movement. While designed for the sport and enduro market the jacket can just as easily be worn for any type of riding.
A tailored shape, adjustable kidney belt and thumb loops ensure an optimum fit.
Maximum upper body protection is provided by a newly developed, three-dimensional pre-formed back protector, NP joint protectors for shoulder and elbow areas, PU protector material and removable inserts in the chest area and impact-absorbing EVA elements (ethylene vinyl acetate) in the upper arm and rib sections.
The jacket has highly improved ventilation from its predecessor thanks to the use of high-grade, air permeable materials and outstanding back ventilation through unique ventilation chambers and innovative 3D interlacing in the back.
Comfortable 3D mesh material provides optimum air-permeability and moisture wicking.

Protector vest

The new Protector vest offers a number of improvements on the previous Back Protector 2. The Protector vest provides optimum protection for the spine, shoulder, collar bone and kidney area and, due to the compact design can be worn underneath any jacket or suit.
The vest has excellent shock absorption to reduce impact energy and the risk of injury.
Improved fit is ensured thanks to the ergonomic 3D shape of the back protector and adjustable shoulder and kidney straps.
Outstanding back ventilation is provided by 3D interlacing in the back combined with innovative air chambers.

Honda CBR 125R

The modern North-American market of motor bike is a strange animal. In much of areas of the world, the riders start on the scooters accessible from 49 DC before the graduation to the bicycles 125cc and 250cc. That ’s not the case here, where many people start with a machine much more [...]

The modern North-American market of motor bike is a strange animal. In much of areas of the world, the riders start on the scooters accessible from 49 DC before the graduation to the bicycles 125cc and 250cc. That ’s not the case here, where many people start with a machine much more powerful and more expensive. In an effort to make the sport surer and more accessible.

Sonic Honda is a motor cycle of 125 DC conceived for the Asian market of south-east by Honda. It is the motor cycle of sister of the 13.5 European powers in horses CBR 125. The motor cycle belongs to the family of motor cycle of nova of RS. The sonic one is one of the most popular motor cycles in Thailand. Its only rival is robber 150, that of Suzuki never really made him on the market. The sonic one is a motor cycle of bridge between the wave and the CBR 150 of Honda. It has similarities with the two motor cycles, but resembles the CBR 150 more narrowly. The sonic one, unlike vagueness is a motor cycle of execution, and is not conceived for an average commuter.

Because of that several main aspects like bodi and light continued to be maintained. Be enough to replace the component foot-foot that was a little bigger, but continued to be chosen that approached the dimension and the original Scorpio model. It was just natural, his owner previously doyan speed-touring with the length motor, Thunder 250 that was known to be fierce in the long trip. However according to him, Thunder rather sulked in the short route in the city.Doi then chose Scorpio Z that was agile and powerful the rhinoceros in order to releases the low-upper round desire in the trip in and out of town. Therefore, the modification foot-foot must be able to maintain the capacity ”run” tight.
